Caring for Your Heritage Felt Artwork
Each Heritage Felt sculpture is created from natural wool and silk fibres and is designed to last for many years with simple, thoughtful care.
Light & Placement
Avoid hanging your artwork in direct, prolonged sunlight. Natural fibres can fade over time when exposed to intense UV light. Bright, indirect light is ideal.
Interestingly, wool benefits from occasional fresh air and gentle natural light. Once or twice a year, you may place your piece outside in direct sunlight for a short period to refresh the fibres.
Dusting & Cleaning
Wool is naturally resistant to dust and dirt, but light maintenance will keep your piece looking its best.
-
Lightly shake or share dust free.
-
Use a hairdryer on a cold setting only to gently blow away surface dust.
-
If needed, vacuum on low suction, placing a thin cloth over the vacuum opening to prevent pulling or disturbing the fibres.
Never use heat or water to clean your artwork.
Regular Check-Ins
Because these works are made from natural materials, it’s wise to check them periodically for any signs of wear or deterioration. Proper indoor care will keep them stable and beautiful for decades.
Natural Pest Protection
With sculptures, to deter pests, you may hang a small sachet of cedar or lavender on the back of the sculpture. This provides gentle, natural protection without affecting the artwork itself.
Your sculpture is made to be lived with — to bring texture, quiet, and presence into your space. With minimal care, it will continue to soften and settle beautifully over time.
